About this center
Centro Cultural Islámico is one of the oldest documented Islamic institutions in São Paulo. Founded in 1979, it operates as a place of prayer, a language school, and a cultural bridge between the local Muslim community and the wider public.
The center maintains a public library of more than 5,000 volumes in Arabic, Portuguese, and Spanish, and hosts a weekly programme of lectures, Arabic classes, and interfaith dialogue sessions. Its archive has been referenced by researchers documenting the growth of Muslim communities across Latin America.
