Islam’s central teaching is Tawheed — the Oneness of God. Muslims believe that the One who created the universe, sustains it, and to whom everything returns must be single and without partner. Multiplicity of gods would mean division, dependency and conflict in creation; the perfect order we observe points instead to one Creator.
This is also the natural human intuition — the fitrah — that in moments of need people turn to a single higher power. Every prophet, from Adam to Muhammad ﷺ, carried the same message: worship God alone.
“Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.” — Qur’an 112:1–4 (Surah Al-Ikhlas)
